But tbh, I am pretty sure your LFS has labeled them correctly.I have doubts that true Mokes are being sold for $35.

I think you meant incorrectly. And yes I agree. Don't think any LFS owner is dumb enough to sell mokes at such a steal.
In the past, maybe as they are group together with retro. Now, No way.

Sorry for jumping off topic, but your avatar looks like Noob Saibot from Mortal Kombat....

Lol! I bought my 9" moke for $40. A $35 8" moke is a reasonable price here in Canada. You have to remember that in Asia have different prices. When I went to Asia, I find that the price of wild caught bichirs are much more expensive than wild caughts here of the same species. Also some exporter do really know their fish and do some research. Even though the fish they bought it cheap, but since it's uncommon they will sell it for 2x-5x the price. If you buy a batch of 10 PBBs direct from Africa it won't even cost you half a grand or a grand each. It's when they landed in a certain country that there price goes to 2x-5x depend who sells them.

They maybe cheap when you buy in africa, but when you shipped to into the country, there will be handling charges, freight charges, DOA etc to take into account.

BTW a PBB cost half a grand or 1 grand each, so does that means anything cost less than that is not a PBB?

I reckon you got lucky with your $40 Moke King-eL! (or more likely you knew your seller)
$35 store price (for public) sounds just way too low IMO.

Here in Japan Bichirs are so cheap, but not $35 (¥3500) for a Moke!

Not really. Pretty much it goes to the profit earning. It's all just business afterall.

Bichirs are cheap here compare from 7 years ago as they were seldom seen and many were captive breed. Only on 2008 were the wild caught started coming in in mass numbers.
