Is my 180 gallon tank overstocked?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
@ Adamrhh yea. thats what i think, but according to many other threads, they will outgrow them. their girth is also a whopper.

@ecoli73 oh really? i read somewhere they typically ignore plants... oh well. i guess ill just settle with some moss or something...

@ Unattended Fish all the fish i will be keeping are all juveniles

@F1 VET my bioload is actually pretty good. I will buy a water test kit soon. What do you mean by "common theme"? Also, i did research about the fish and I am aware about how big these fish do get. I'm just not sure how much fish my tank can handle. I just want to know in general if

I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding guys, but this is just a stock idea for my upcoming tank :/. So very sorry about that. So, no pictures. I must've forgotten to put that in from the beginning... Thanks for all the replies! When i do get the tank set up and have all these fish inside, ill post a new thread :D. But it might be a while though... I'm now considering the trio of needlefish or 2 more ropefish. Out with the featherfins because they are aggressive towards each other and I'm afraid the bichirs won't grow fast enough and will get eaten... Which is the better choice? Some people may think it's stupid to talk about a tank that's not even set up yet, but, I would like to know my stock options. Thanks for all the replies, and sorry about the lack of information...

Its not stupid to ask about stocking advise before getting / setting up a tank...

Instead, i would say its reckless to buy a tank, stuff a load of fish you arent sure about into a tank not thats not suitable / compatible for them...

So you're on the right track with asking before buying ;)

Btw, regarding fire eels, look on youtube for the 40" fire eel video... Then you'll be able to see the potential size and girth we're all talking about

@Fat Homer yes. i did see that vid. I am aware about how large fire eels get. That's why i said i will eventually sell it when it outgrows my 180.
