Just noticed some different coloration than I've seen before. It's acting kind of weird. Do you think it's finally starting to turn red? I've never seen the black in the dorsal. Usually when it's stressed it gets darker on the sides (bars and line show). I'm super stoked if it is. I've had it for months and it still doesn't eat well, hence the skinny "stomach".

btw, fyi, the fish on the right in the first pic is a tikinso guinea endli and the fish on the left in the second pic is a congicus

Well, we both have one so we'll see how they turn out :D

I don't care if they don't get all red, they're still a nice pike that isn't so easy to find.

very nice. can i suggest a full tank shot? im getting curious on what everyones pike tank looks like.

looks alittle underfed/not eating alot in the second shot. is he a picky eater?

I will try to get some full-tank pix here soon.

It eats tilapia, but not a lot at a time. It's been a picky eater since I got it. I feed enough at a time, it just doesn't take enough of it. If it would actually eat, it would grow and should be about the size where they start to change.

u try feeding it other stuff to get it to eat more? ive never feed tilapia to my fish before. is it grocery store bought tilapia?

yeah, just tilapia filets cut up. It won't eat cut up market shrimp or pellets of any kind. I haven't tried silversides, though. Here's a couple crappy full-tank pix. I'm going put an update thread in the photo lounge w/ more pix, too.

It's back to its "normal" coloration

When I get my 300 set up (gets here next thursday), I'm going to put it in with my p-bass and get it fat on feeders and then when my bass get big enough, I'm going to try and get all of them on pellets. I need to do the same w/ my NGT, too. I've never fed it live, but I want it to grow.

Have you tried frozen muscles. My marms won't touch a pellet, they won't even eat night crawlers, but
they love Market Prawns, Muscles and of course krill. Talapia they eat but aren't over eager for.
I haven't tried to starve them yet but am going to try soon.
They will also eat Black Worms and Blood Worms, but it takes/cost to much to fill them up with those.

no, haven't tried mussels. Haven't tried worms yet either. Mine won't even look at anything on the surface, so krill is out. Being in with my bass may fix that, though.

yep, only little fish get bloodworms (and my bgk cuz I'm a softie when it comes to that fish, lol).
