Is My "Fire" Turning

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah, I like mine too even if it doesn't get red. Mine like to stay under cover so I took it all out.

does yours dig in the sand at any time, like lays down and just shakes the sand from that area or grab a mouths full?

wish I had or could get a 300 and do a full atabapo tank. the pike nor the pr of heros allow any new comers.

no, mine doesn't mess with the sand at all. It used to stay under the DW a lot but it swims out in the open most of the time now.

you would think if you got a 300 and put other fish in there first and then introduced your pike and sevs all at once that they would be cool together.

That is a shame, My two lents (12") are housed with a Large Zonatus,
Argentea, Pink Fenestratus and Syspillum. With a large school of SDs.
It is very pleasing to watch them interact. They do but heads once
in a while but nothing serious.

tank size?

my 3 are in a 75. took months just for the fire to stop chasing the heros. now he just brakes up any fights they have. might try growing out a small ray a shop just got in...

and yes pw I would introduce the trio to the bigger tank last.
i'm surprised you get away w/ that in a 75

I figured you would...didn't mean to tell you how to do it :D

never had a prob with pikes and OTHER fish in any size tank unless they could eat it of course.only small fish it hasn't eaten is a rhino pleco I put in last yr at about an inch. thought I had a good divider but it went past and even swam in font of the fire and he didn't even try anything. put a nice 3" pbass and it was gone the next morning with the divider bent out of place.

the trio does make a nice show piece as they resemble ea other coming from the same basic location.
