But you are correct in the fact that cichlids generally do not get along with gars.

i had a spotted gar with a bass living together...sadly while changing the water i was dumb and put them both in the same container then the gar got spooked and smashed the bass into a wall...and he died :/ but the gar's just fine...i need to get a bigger home for him tho
