Is my GT bored??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That is odd...

You could try to rearrange the decor of the aquarium, that may help.

Then again, if your fish appears to be healthy then maybe he just has claimed that spot as his

best of luck to ya

Sorry, the wife tells me we got the tank on Feb.7, i dunno where i got 4 from, lol. So anyways, does this sound normal for a fish to be like this, its been 2 weeks and 2 days, thats a long time for him to get used to it right? The convict could care less about it, hes rippin it up all the time!!

There really is no telling how long these things take. I would avoid too many changes so you don't stress it out. The move was a big difference in space, so maybe just needs some time to figure out it's all his.

Definitely weird. I have had some do that..there were times when the chocolate that I have now would not move out from her cave unless there was food. Literally sat in it all day, maybe moved 2 inches towards someone telling them to leave. Long time ago took the cave out, added more plants and lots of wood. The convict is obviously loving life, the gt should have figured it out hah. I dono if I were you I would do a big redecoration and if you can find taller pieces of wood that has seemed to help me in the past. Made shy fish come out more and fish who would normally stay in the middle spend more time up towards the surface. Good luck. You have any pics?

Here is 2 i just took. I just did a deco switch up the other day. The tank is 48x24x26 high. I put a piece of mirror on the left side, in the old tank he liked fighting his reflection, iv seen him check it out in the new tank, but not like before.

cool set-up, maybe he just doesnt know what to do with all the space lol, if i were you i would add another med growing cichlid or 2 that way he will have something to defend his territory against and will come out more and interact with the other fish, he probably doesnt view the convict as a threat so doesnt care about him, severums would be cool... and some kind of schooling dither may also work to draw him out and if not then at least you will have some more movement in your tank, i think you would also like to add a senegal or 2 in there, they are awesome bichirs that are really active and will use all levels of the tank and are easily available

i would do a severum. i saw a jag kill a gt.
