Is my Leopard Bushfish Sick?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If it's white snowy spots it may be ich, i can't tell from the pictures, I've only dealt with it a couple times years ago. But search on here theres some good info, I think they said dose with salt and raise the temp, but my memory is unclear on the dosing or temp range

I have already added some fake plants and what not. There are plenty of hiding places. It isn't stress like that. It is a fungus because it is spreading to my other fish.

The pH would also be helpful. This species prefers slightly acidic condition, pH around 6, and preferably, no higher than 7
And unless you've got heavily planted sump, 0 nitrate can be an unicycle tank, or a cycle crash.

Ok so my test strip wasn't off horribly, here are the results from the Master Kit:

Ph: 8.2

Ammonia: 0

Nitrite: 0

Nitrate: 0

Is it actually dangerous to have Nitrate at 0? I just did a 25% water change yesterday and have had this tank running for a year now. It's definitely been cycled, none of my fish are showing signs of distress other than the obvious disease on them. They eat well and act pretty normal.

I've been alternating medicine for my fish: ick meds every other day (as it says every 48 hours) and fungicide (or whatever you call it) every day I don't put Ick meds in. I put Ick meds in today.

I hope to get some fake plants (which I can't believe I plan on doing as I hate fake plants, lol) tomorrow so I can give them some more shelter. I don't have many decorations as of right now because I'm pretty sparse with decor.
