hello well im not sure if my managuense is a male or female but its making a pit in the sand on my 120 gallon. And it has some blue tints on its fins and parts of its body.I think hes growing a nuchal hump....so from what i said is it a male? im goin to breed them but i need to know if its a male or female....ill get a pic of him later....maybe like tomorrow or something but ill post a pic of it.Thanks.

If they are sort of shaped like these Parachromis dovii - the front one is a male the rear one is a female - also from what I am learning ... you may want to introduce them when they are young (since they have a similar temperament to these)

Hope that helps some ... these 2 are only about 4 inches long ...

How big is yours?

yea i noe ima probably go maybe tomorrow afternoon to get him or her a mate.....i should have gotten maybe like 6 and let them sort out at first them bring back or sell the others to people who wants to take care of them...but i have a veija synspilum in the 120 gallon with it abit till i move him in his own tank later...but the managuense keeps following it and does lots of weird stuff to it...not being aggressive at all just swimming side by side with it and shakes on my synspilum. What are they doing? lol it looks pretty funny in person.

we'll females don't really have the hump on there head but they do dig alot post a pic and we will try to tell you what it is but it could just lays eggs in the pit like mine did and then you'll know for sure

lol so is it possible for them to breed if they are male and female? im not saying they are but what are the odds of that happening...it may happen but most likely wont i guess since different genus....but who knows....their was a dovii x jaguar, texas x jaguar and stuff like that....we may never know but wait. =)

Why use photobucket? You can do the same on MFK by uploading into your "personal gallery"
