Is my severum too chunky?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
An actual side shot of the fish would be more helpful.

I don't feed any of my adult fish multiple times a day. I've seen a lot of obese Heros, Mesonauta, etc. People tend to want to feed multiple feedings, or give treats when they walk by the tank, etc. Once my fish are past their prime growth period they get one substantial daily feeding.

More important than feeding veggies is don't overfeed.

Yessiree!

I only offered up the AlgaeMax formula as what I feel is a better alternative than feeding the terrestrial based plant matter the OP listed. I've kept a few Sevs myself. :)

Thank you, but 8 ounces of nls cost 60 euros?

Well sucks to live in Berlin. Buy in bulk, usually far more cost effective. Also I would not feed 12mm wafers to a Sev, unless broken into pieces.

Hi,
Can you get this off eBay?
is 40 euros for 4.4 ounces, when sent from the UK.
Yes, it sucks to live in Berlin, sometimes.
I fed mire often when the severum was smaller, 3 or 4 times a day and changed 50% water twice or three times a week.
I think that was good for a young fish but now his growth of length has slowed down considerably and I decreased the amount of food a little but his belly still looks pretty fat to me.
Reducing to feeding just once a day and watch him closely while feed more plant matter is what I' ll try.
He is just rarely nibbling at plants, even a lone temple plant survives in there, its no good live though.
But any veggies I throw in there are annihilated immediately.
Maybe he will consume them less greedily, when I start feeding tge spirulina granule .
