OK, so I have had my 6" Motoro now for 2 weeks...shes been eating fine (frozen Krill and siversides). Filtration 1 FX5, 2 aquaclear 110's and 1 big powerhead for extra aeration and flow ...I decide to decorate her tank a little bit (my 220 gallon with about 1/2 inch of small rounded gravel).....so I add a few nice lookin rounded river rocks (6-inches and flat) to one side of the tank......she wont go near them, and is now burrowing under the gravel....she eats, but not a s much, and is now breathing heavy....The rocks were used in other aquariums, and I soaked them for several days in clean water just to be sure they were clean......all parameters are OK, Ammonia = 0, nitrites = 0, nitrtates = 0...temp 81...tankmates all around 3" are 2 silver dollars, a koi and an oscar.....non of her tankmates bother her at all.......she will eat a couple fish and/or krill, then immediately bury........so am I just being paranoid, or is she stressed by the "presence" of those scary rocks!!??.....I am also wondering if it could be parasites!!??....I guess I am ready to remove the rocks (to see if she stops her psycho behavior), thats the only thing I changed this weekend......any suggestions??....I am also paranoid about parasites, as I have seen really small "worms" (like 1/10th inch) swimming in the airbubble from my filters, and I saw this in my arrowana tank also last night....I dosed the arowana tank with coppersafe, and was gonna do that to the ray tank also....is coppersafe Ok for rays.....I have read about other treatments that you guys have used (Prazi?) but it sounds like its nasty....I was gonna try my old reliable parasite med, coppersafe....thansk for any answers guys!!

maybe you wanna check your pH before and after you put that river rocks :)
pretty impressive on your homework on medication ;)
Good Luck.

The little worms are likely from over feeding/too much excess food. Squeeze a sponge from one of your filters into a glass and see how many come out. Coppersafe won't kill them, but acriflavin will, BUT you are better off just keeping a cleaner tank and increasing water changes. I don not know if the acriflavin is aro and ray safe.

No your ray is not psycho, she is just spooked, she will return to normal in days if you let her be. Most likely your activity in the tank spooked her and she just needs to shake it off.

copper is a NO NO..... just increase your water changes and filter maintence

Thanks guys for the help......I removed the rocks, and she immediately went back to that 1/2 of the aquarium....WOMEN!!....anyway, thanks nic for telling me NO to the Coppersafe.........I was on my way to medicate and read the thread......I will check the filter and do another 25% change..........remember there arent very many fish in the tank, and she is only 6 inch diameter, so I didnt think I needed that many changes at this stage of her life......but I will follow your guys advice......BTW, I have had aquariums for 30+ years and never noticed the little worms til this week!?

Copper is never safe for stingrays! As for the water changes, you would be surprised. With well-established over-filtration, you can get away with 25% waterchanges x1/week, but I would recommend 25% x2/week or even better, set up a drip.

Prazi is ridiculously safe for rays, and you can even increase dosage if the situation warrants it. It is always better to figure out exactly what you're trying to treat, because nobody likes pouring money (literally) down the drain. That and always, always -=always=- check to make sure that a medication is ray-safe before using.

Do you think you could post pictures of the worms? It would be best to post them both in filter and seperated, both wet and then dried out.
