Is my tank going to burst??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i am at work right now, and they have an identical tank outside, and it's been there for several years and it looks like it has the same 'problem' so i'm a little less worried, but i will still go over the tank again tonight.

Better safe then sorry. I just moved to this new place, and it's unreal how cheap i'm renting the place for, so i don't want to get kicked out if this tank leaks.

I actually think it's fine, i think its not the glass. But the top frame.

But i'm going to double check everything..
If I have to tear down this tank after all the work i did with the plants and just the work it took to get inside then I might just give up for now.

I just spoke to someone who has the same tank.

He told me that this is normal, and his tank looks just the same.

The frame on the sides are all glued to the tank, while the frames on the top are not, therefor there will be some slack between the glass and top frame.

The brand of the aquarium is akvastabil, which is quality product from denmark, so i'm not that concerned at the moment.
I will call tomorrow to the company and get their professional opinion.

Worst case scenario, I take down the tank, and get a new one.
They don't make this hood anymore, so i might get T5's instead of T8.

But i'd prefer to keep this one as it is, as i don't want to disrupt my precious plants.
