Is my tank ready for a pair of pups?

Did water test and got trace amounts of Ammonia and zero Nitrites. Probably expecting a Nitrite spike very very soon?

Also the rays are eating very aggressively. They'll gobble up a large prawn in under a minute and get big humps. So they're looking very healthy atm. I've had Ammonia under control, now to battle the nitrites when they come.

Great job! The fact that you got them to eat on the same day is already a tremendous victory. My ray started to eat like 5 days after, which got me worried sick!

Just keep up with the water changes and your tank should cycle just fine.

I got my 1,000G pond to cycle in less than 10 days with aged media.
