I found a tank that had a minor spider crack at the top of the tank (like hairline size in width and max of 3 inches in length) I used aquarium safe silicone to repair it...

I was just wondering if this is safe to put water into... the tank was determined to be about a 90 gallon...

No, it's not safe lol. Especially not in a big tank. Hairline crack could rapidly expand and there goes the side of the tank. If you're gonna repair it, you need to silicone a piece of glass over it, to distribute the pressure. I wouldn't trust it even then. 200 bucks for a new tank or risk losing more in fish and water damage...

Agreed, don't do it. If we were talking about a smaller tank then maybe, but not 90 gallons.

oh, damn, thanks, that's what i thought... my girlfriend just suggested something, what about safelight repair? (like for the windshields) because you figure it's gotta be able to take alot of pressure to be able to withstand high air pressure that it goes through when moving at high speeds, no?

i had a 120 gallon tank with a crack in the bottom i seallead it with tank glass glue and placing a larger piece of glass over it. then got pond linner lined the bottom put gravel n it was fine never had ne problems
