is my turtle hibernating?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks. I can't fill it up anymore because the other side has a leak. That's why I divided it half land. I made it just for a cool vivarium, not to keep a turtle in. I wasn't planning on adopting a turtle when I set it up, that's why the water isn't deeper. I was in the process of making this turtle an escape proof outdoor enclosure. I just started on it and now something is wrong with the turtle and I can't find her. I've really looked through that dirt. I will have to empty the whole tank tomorrow when I have the time.

I found her! She was burried pretty deep in the back corner. I am digging her up. Do you think she had burried herself to lay an egg? If so, should I get her out then?

I'd take her out and soak her in a warm bucket of water for about 20 minutes and then inspect her. Make sure her eyes are free of puss and that she's not weezing or discharging any bubbles from her nose.

Sweet:headbang2Now the absolute perfect ending it would be for you to get her to eat veggies;) They will make her healtier and stronger. It however wont be easy. In my sliders it took as I remenbar at least 2 years to train them, but it was sooo worth it:D Their healtier then ever! Start by introducing her to fruit, wich are more apealing then leafy greens. Stuff like banana, figs, melon, cantelope, grapes, etc. Once she acepts progress to hard vegetables, carots, pumpkin, squash. Then to green beans and peas. Finely dark leafys like mustard greens and turnip greens
