Is anybody familiar with the Pennsylvania state law? I know from the website that Pennsylvania native fish may be legally kept in an aquarium as long as “the fish are legally caught, meaning in compliance with season, size, and creel limits and licensing requirements, they may be kept in an aquarium.”

I have emailed them twice though about endangered and candidate species and have not heard back. I know that it would be illegal to keep these fish out of our waters, even if they are caught in a legal manner. My question is, can these species (endangered/candidate) be kept legally in an aquarium if they are purchased from an authorized retailer?

Totally legal in Illinois w/ the proper transportation permit,VHS cert.Il lic.just sold out on my 200 Northern Pike 10 to 13" lol I actually have Barred Musky that were mixed in by acident!

Does anyone know the laws in Nebraska pertaining to collecting one's own native fish? The last time I checked it was illegal but it wasn't law enforcement that told me so I went by word of mouth. In my city, however, I know it's illegal to keep any wild animal, fish or not. If it's not sold by a company you can't own it. I'm getting some two inch long pickerel in during late May to early June sometime. I was curious if I could simply collect my own and how big they'd have to be. So far I'm not finding anything on the web and thought there might be people here who have better methods.

as long as it is legal in your area you can purchase a grass pickerel or a redfin pickerel. They are nice looking and don't grow all that big as far as pickerels grow. They sell them at jonah's aquarium and the aquaculturestore.
