Is Polyester resin water proof if i make it thick?

marine epoxy is waterproof after it cures. polyester resin has to be top coated with a wax to seal it from the air. then it will set and become waterproof.

i wouldnt even use it unless coating osb i found some duraplate paint for the exact same price at sherwin willams (thanks jungle fever) i coated base but nothing else with a two part epoxy gel and painted over it does make a diffeernce will it stick ill know later.

the duraplate was 70.00 a gallon the fiberglass resin was 80.00 a gallon and a gallon will cover your dimensions.

Take into consideration that these are canadian prices not us so it would probably be cheaper out theire.

i can give you the details on the duraplate later if you like its drinking water safe.

wax??? wax comes to the surface when it cures.put some gel coat on it that will work,you can also tint gelcoat to any colour you want

gel coats expensive stuff on a 90.

my total on gel coat just the inside 200.00

still have some not sure if im going to use it or return it.

how much paint you will need will make a difference on how much you need.
