I am preparing a tank for a juvenile razorback musk turtle. I can't find any info on whether Prime is a safe dechlorinator for aquatic turtles. I use Prime on my fish tanks so I'd love the convenience of using it for the turt too.

Thanks in advance for help...

Yes it's fine to use but you really don't need it.

Yes I do. The chlorine and chloramine content in my area is pretty high, and I don't want to worry about any eye irritation.

Chlorine evaporates from the water in a few hours. You can always fill some gallon jugs and let them sit for a while before you do water changes.

Yes but chloramines don't evaporate, and they are just as irritating because they are a combination of chlorine and ammonia. I just want to do the best thing for my pet...

Chloramines will gas off, it just takes (a lot) more time and agitation...

But dechlorinators such as Prime are very inexpensive and save enough time/effort that it is well worth it for most of us.
