has worked but you have to be really willing to risk it and you have to have raised the micro with other tankmates its entire life so it's not as aggressive towards other tankmates. IMO micros should only be mixed with other micros but if you plan on doing it anyways make sure all the tankmates are bigger than the micro because you can expect that at any time the micro will take a bite out of one of your other fish
