For me yes if I needed it right away ... But if you can wait shop around they come on sale quite a bit ..i've spent more on an ehiem wet dry canistor because i was stuck but got my other eheims on sale.

The price of the actual filter is $332.99 but I'm coming up with about $500 because I'm adding in the cost of media. (actually i now found a media pack for cheaper so it will probably be more like $450)

Is this too expensive? It sounds like a lot of people are saying it should be about $330 or so, but do you mean with the media or without? Should I be able to find it cheaper?

WyldFya posted $319.00 "FILLED" meaning w/ media. So the deals are out there...

I've searched and searched and I can't even come close to matching that price. If I could find that price I would be ALL OVER IT. Can anyone help?

As the title says... What do you think?

- If it matters, which it really shouldn't, its for a 125 gal tank

Geez, all this for only a 125?!?!?Not putting down, I think it's o.k., but I would rather invest that money on a wet dry setup....

The deal is to be had when you talk to you LFS fish room manager. He should be going to shows regularly, and the eheim company is almost always at shows. They are great guys, and when talked to at the shows they generally will drop the prices on their merchandise. I also pay only $175 for my 2028 filters.

I already have a wet dry setup (Del Ray 125 w/ eheim hobby pump 1260 - 635gph).... I'm looking for more mechanical filtration to replace my Fluval
