so what your saying is if i started eating healthy and do what adam did id live for 1000 years? ( i do believe in God BUT i highly dought anyone can live past 120 even if they eat right and done everything right )

No man..its impossible to do that today because of the environment..Our air is not what is used to be...Our water is loaded with chemicals like chlorine etc...And i doubt we can find food that hasn't gone through any type of artificial processing..Our earth has been through numerous natural and man-made disasters like volcanoes erupting and nuclear/hydrogen bombs which directly or indirectly shortened our lifespan and made us more susceptible to diseases or even created new mutated diseases like cancer...Cancer is not something you can get if you aren't exposed to urban pollution or modern day products/inventions.. In our time it is impossible to live for even half a millennium like Adam but keep in mind that he was alive when the world was just freshly created by God and everything he did/ ate were all natural and God given..Surely there was no smoke or carbon monoxide back then or instant noodles and coffee..Thats why he lived up to man's full potential and is a reminder that we have dropped to a pathetic level in comparison..We are not living to our full potential and are a shell if our former selves..If they had sports back then i doubt dunking in merely a 10 ft. court would be a decent challenge..If our athletes today weren't exposed to modern day hazards they can do much more better than we ever expected..I mean David (King David of the Bible) killed a lion and a bear with his bare hands..And have you heard about Samson? I know they have been helped by God but aren't we all being helped by God..We can never recreated Adam and his generation' health and longevity but I assure you, if we follow God's word about how he wants us to be healthy and live how he wants us to live, we will have the best possible health/attitude/person we can have/be in our time today...

"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health,
even as thy soul prospereth." III John 1:2

THANKS AND PEACE BE WITH YOU GUYS!!!

Oh sorry :footinmou

Yeah, we are in many ways dependent upon technology and medicine now more than ever. With antibiotic abuse, excellent water quality in most areas, parasite control, genetically modified high yield/nutrient crops and environmental modifications all but a few unfortunate are able to live to reproduction age.
As for people with congenital issues having children.... eugenics sounds like a splendid idea in theory but real life application is impossible. Sieg heil and such last time it was tried.
Actually from a genetic standpoint the human race may suffer fewer issues in the future if more people intermarry with those outside their once isolated ethnic groups, IMO.

wow. this was bumped? i figured it would die....
:D
YES winning!!! heh heh

Well ignoring the religous bile i think alot of people are confusing what darwin defines as fittest,
it is not the biggest or strongest males but those who survive and breed that are are fittest. Sure pump us with drugs and we can do 20x what any human could do in are history.
Thats why records keep getting broken . We are so fit as a species we are on are way yo becoming the only species.

i think those statements are kinda broad, have you ever cracked your vertebrae in you back or torn tendons?

I do have to agree with you on that one also, I have 2 crushed disks 4 pinched nerves and I have a disk that is constantley sliping out of place and Yes I do take drugs for the pain( prescribed drugs btw) do I like "living" like this No but at least with the drugs it brings my pain level to a point to where I can get up and walk around and function as compared to not taking meds doing nothing but laying in bed trying not to move because that pain is so intense.

i think we are. we are becoming of society of sheep. most people cant think for themselves. any little thing and they wanna pump themselves with drugs, antibiotics, etc etc. reminds me of the iPhone commercials; "there's an app for that." well now it's, "there's a drug for that." it's ridiculous. for example:

- you get the sniffles, you pump yourself up with drugs
- you sneeze, you pump yourself up with drugs
- you cough, you pump yourself up with drugs
- your eyes water, you pump yourself up with drugs
- other people get sick, you pump yourself up with drugs
- youre depressed, you pump yourself up with drugs
- you cant sleep, you pump yourself up with drugs
- cant stay awake, you pump yourself up with drugs
- you cant eat, you pump yourself up with drugs
- you cant stop eating, you pump yourself up with drugs
- you cant focus, you pump yourself up with drugs
- youre kids are hyper and cant pay attention, you pump them up with drugs. wtf theyre kids, theyre SUPPOSED to be that way
- you feel some pain, you pump yourself up with drugs
- youre neverous, you pump yourself up with drugs
- you feel anxious, you pump yourself up with drugs

and the list goes on and on. i think were just weakening ourselves. i cant remember the last time i took meds, other than the occasional aspirin for a splitting headache. some people's lives revolve around meds. i think its because they are weak mentally and need something to "help" them in their lives. its pathetic
so true. everyone calls humans the pinnacle of evolution, but if you look at it, our only real weapons are our brains.
we have no scales to protect us, so we use gloves and boots, and maybe armor if you're in the forces.
we have no fur to keep us warm, so we are dependent on jackets in colder areas.
we have no claws to defend ourselves, so we use weapons.
we have a head shape that would severely limit what we could eat naturally in the wild, so we use forks and knives to get food into smaller pieces for eating
we have a weak immune system, so we use meds.

now i know some people will say "but our brains allow us to make those things, so we are the best" however, ask yourselves this: what if nature did not supply us with the materials we need to build those items? or if we somehow ended up stuck without them in a forest somewhere? then what? to be the ultimate species, the species has to be smart AND have the physical adaptations to use those smarts. so basically, humans are not even close to being the ultimate species. a better guess would be a dolphin, or maybe a sea lion. they both have an average IQ level HIGHER than the average human, and they have much more physical adaptions.
