I just looked up the name クサガメ on google.jp and got this link.
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/クサガメ

And I looked up the latin name on google and it came out as Reeve's Turtle. On the Japanese Wikipedia, it says it is endangered..don't ALOT of people keep this species? I am also interested in keeping this turtle but..

Is it just the population in Japan that is endangered? Do they breed this species in captivity?

There are a few subspecies of the Reeve's. Possibley one of them is endangered. But it is one of the most common wild species of turtle found in China, Japan, and Korea.

I just found out that the one on the Wikipedia page said that it is a CITES species..are all Reeves Turtle on the CITES list?

where can I get one vicious?

I don't really know what subspecies of Reeve's are on the CITES list.

Back in the 90's, Reeve's turtles were pretty common in a lot of pet stores around me. I haven't seen them for sale in a long time. You might be able to order some at a LPS or LFS. Or you can check around on the web for breeders in the US.

ok thanks!
