is there a cichlid that can beat up a jack dempsey?

ive heard that dempsey is a mean fish and my friend is always braggin how tough it is. i was wondering if there is a cichlid i could get thats tougher than it and would win in a fight

There are a few different cichlids that are more aggressive than a JD. But I don't see the point of getting one just to be tougher than your friends.

pretty much any big ca/sa cichlid.. dovii,red devil/midas/jag/green terror,fetsae,etc.... ohh and i dont know why you want to buy a fish too fight them?????

with the above posts...there are a lot of species that are on average more aggressive than JD...but getting one just for that reason isn't really the best reason to get a certain type of fish. Besides, there'd be no way to actually prove it without putting them together to watch them fight which would be highly irresponsible.

IMO there are several cichlids that are much more aggressive than JDs. JDs are tough fish no doubt, but an Umbee and Dovii would definitely bully any JD.

I've had convicts that bullied a JD. I understand you don't plan to have fish fight, but your friend will not believe there is any fish tougher than his own. Just how many people think when it comes to their fish.

my flowerhorn bullied my jd, the jd was bigger and the fh whooped it. i had to move my jd to another tank or the fh would have killed it. not cool to see man trust me.
