Is there a plant that would make ammonia and nitrates go down

God idk what I was thinking was picturing some terrestrial Fern species not the aquatic ones you were obviously talking about.

Op I don't have any bamboo in my tanks but I think only the lower parts should be submerged.
Pothos with all dirt washed of roots and just roots crammed in the back of tank is how I have mine.

The thing with java fern is that it grows really slowly so it doesn't take in as much ammonia/nitrite/nitrates as faster growing plants. Java moss grows faster and will do a better job at taking the nitrates.

I use Pothos plants in my tanks and I think they do a better job than anything else. I have an AC 110 and I run the filter with the Pothos inside.
