i tried to do water changes i have done 4 so far every other day and it wont go away. and what do the ghoast shrimp eat? i just lost my bamboo shrimp and dont want any more to die.

ghost shrimp will take any left over food, also it is good to supplement thier diet, use the search tool to find what they like. remove the drift wood, and soke it sepratly and do water changes untill the water is clear, then put the wood back in

to give some input on a few of the questions. I bought ghost shrimp and in a pretty clean tank (less then a week with only snails in it) they went to town cleaning on everything. If you buy a small container of sinking pellets to help vary the shrimps diet then they will last you a while.

As for the drift wood. It could take a week it could take a few months. I would look for a really good multi-stage filter with a good turn over rate (larger then needed) to really move the water.

get like 6 there are very cheap if u can find a lfs that sells them as feeders. my lfs sells 6 for a dollar

there is ghost shrimps, and cherry shrimps, and im sure there is others, in a small tank like that im sure you could get away with 3-5 easy. they eat the left overs of the fish, i would cut back on the food tho.

Take the wood out, and boil it for a while. that will help get you get rid of some of the tannin.

If you have a filter you can get a polystyrene pad that you put into your filter and it makes the water spotless!
