Is there any hope of fixing this? >_<

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well if you look closely at the area and there is black inside the spot then it is likly a crack and the bottome is made of plate gass. And if that is the case then you could take a dentists drill bit and drill the end of it so it will not run on you any more . Then silicone a new piece over top of the crack. hope this helps. oh and buy the way these are my first 2 posts.

wow, I didn't expect so many replies. Thanks!

I didn't think about it being tempered and a crack would cause it to shatter. Lol. But it's not a straight line, it's more curvy like a crack in a windshield.

......

So we just went to go check if it was a crack or a scratch... and my boyfriend is a genius. He scratched at it... and it was silicone. >___<

I can't believe i am such a retard. It's ok, laugh at me. I am.

That tank is most likely made from plate glass. I had a 70G corner tank and it wasn't tempered. I would look into either replacing the glass or selling the tank.

run your fingernail across the crack, if you feel it on the bottom then you have a crack for sure. Most likely you have a crack because its curving. The bad thing is the crack will expand eventually, no matter what you do. With a little woodworking know how you can cut a piece of plywood to fit and coat it with pond armor or "sweetwater epoxy" might be a cheap way out if you do have a crack?

That's what I was figurin'. beat me to it..;)

It doesn’t matter whether it is a scratch, a crack or a string of silicone you must

A) Reinforce the entire tank with a frame and bracing of 2*4s.
B) Replace all the glass with 1 inch diamond.
C) Build a stand that will survive being nuked from orbit.

Dont forget to guard it with ninjas! Duh!

On a serious matter, that is nice that it was just silicone! I would have freaked out too!
