Already been said but if they weren't illegal in the US: certain Snakehead sp., marble walking catfish, and Asian Aros (if, in this alternate universe they were also no so expensive).

I'll add my own addition to this list: any sweet Mormyrid species. Love those, but anything other than normal ENs, baby whales or maybe dolphins are almost impossible to find unless you get really lucky. Or maybe an African arowana...

A sea turtle for me too. Many smuggled in every year but the price is jaw breaking.

You can.. there is a program where you can sponsor a small sea turtle.. when it grows too big.. bring it back and they will replace it with another small one. The sponsorship money you provide them saves many many more sea turtles. I remember reading about this.

I am doing that for my baby albino channel cat. Soon buying a 125 for a grow out then gonna build a large pond or use a intex pool until I have the funds. I will do what I got to do to see him huge.
