Is there any special instructions for breedings convicts?

just buy a pair and set them into your aquarium.
in less than a week they should breed.
i remember mine breed the first week i got them and once i took out the fry, they bred again.
 
i want alot of fry. Would i be hampering the breeding process by having 4 convicts in the 20 gallon tank? Any particular kind of convicts breed best?
 
i like how people always ask "how cn i make my fish breed"?
aahahhahahahah. as if we have any controll over that. YOU dont make your fish breed. they either do, or dont. the only way you can controll it is if you artificially inseminate them by hand, otherwise, you had no hand in the process.

lucky for you, convicts will breed in a zip lock bag full of water if you put a pair in it. so just add a male and a female to your tank, and let NATURE take its course
 
I expect to get my adult male and female in the next couple of days. Once they start breeding, should i put the hatched fry immediately in my piranha tank for snacks or should i put them in a holding tank and for how long?
 
first of all, you shouldnt have a pranha tank if you live in the states, and if you do, you sure as hell shouldnt be admitting it on a public forum that links your ip address and is probably closely monitored by "the man"

second. newborn fry are hardly a snack. you will want a small tank to keep them in to grow out for a few months first.
