I just realized that my 150 gallon tank is higher on one side than the other, by the water level it looks like between a 1/4 or 1/8 inch difference, no biggy, but I was wondering would there be anyway to level it without draining the tank. Should I leave it be or should I do something to level it. I've had it up for a few months now and just realized (I usually dont fill it up to the top but decided to fill it to the border and realized it wasnt as high on the other side)

I would leave it. tanks are designed to handle slight differences in like that, especially across the length of the tank.

what would be bad is if say the front right corner was higher than the back left corner for example.

this puts a "twisting" force on the tank which is bad.

but 1/8" to 1/4" across the full length of the tank should be nothing to worry about.

both my tanks are off just hair, bout a1/8". i just make sure the water is above the trim around the tank so you cant see it. otherwise i would obsess about it and have a stroke or something lol

Only way to level it is to put shims under the stand and you have to do that with the tank empty so I would leave it.

Personally I would leave it. If it is making you crazy, the next time you do a big water change you could try to level it. Use tapered shims, like the ones used for shimming doors and windows, and ever so slowly and carefully work them under the stand.

ok, figure ill leave it, it dont bother me really, I was a little worried it could be bad for it but doesnt seem like enough tilt to be harmful

Both my 225 and 450 aren't levelled either. On my 450 height wise the left side of the tank the glass is 30.5" vs the right side at 30". I checked the back side of my tank and it was only off by .2"...It use to bug me as I wished I checked the measurements on both sides of the tank. But now oh wells as I need at least 6-7 guys just to move it again lol.

I was going to say shims too. And it's not true that the tank has to be empty ... just put the shims underneath the stand, hammer them into the appropriate corner(s) Worked for me and my set up ( the stand is SUPER heavy the tank is made out of 5/8 glass and thee is about 120gal all together ;) so it is doable -I've done it.

good luck
