when it gets warm and you have time to try for one, the best way i do it is to take a 5" sucker hook it through the head and drag it on the bottom...if there is alot of bowfin in the lake you will get one and then another....i like to use 4lb test line on my crappie rod it's a blast...

I am going to give it a try this weekend, hopefully its not too cold out but i heard its better fishing in fall cause the fish are trying to fattin up. My dad has seen some dead ones by this pond so ill try there and post a picture if i can get one.
gl...i haven't seen any when i have been bowfishing latly, but i did see one when i was duck hunting so it is hit or miss....the fall fishing depends on the fish you want to catch and you have to fish alot slower after the lake turns...ime
I have a few to many baby bowfin I got from a buddy I would be willing to part with. I'm not sure how to ship fish never done it before but I could research it if any one is interested
