Ya don't wanna loose that beauty. My buddy has a dovii that barely ate for 6 months. Water was 80° and he dropped it down to 75 and dude started eating like a pig. Play with water parameters find his sweet spot. Don't know if you are original owner but possibly it grew up in a bigger tank or was in community tank or was part of a pair since juvenile. Never know. Think outside the box. Try some frozen peas or small piece of chicken off the BBQ, piece of cheese whatever. I have a trimac that got real cold last winter and he didn't eat for months. I don't know how he lived. Seems like once they get primed they go back to their gluttony ways. Be patient he's worth it...get him a little lady? Pm me I'll send you one

Thank you for the encouragement. Ive been working with it and tried some things and have seen little bits of improvement. Will try some of your suggestions.

CA cichlid temperament can really vary w/ in the same species. Each individual fish will behave differently. Not so sure if a catch location would have much of a difference in catch locations. Especially if they live in similar environments. The only real difference is colors and body shape. That’s been my experience w/ other cichlid species.

90 Gal sounds pretty small for an adult Trimac.

Hello Predator07 Predator07 ,
I say go for it and order from Max Cichlids. I've heard good things about Max Cichlids. Trimacs from different location points can be very similar looking. The differences will be pretty small in most regards. They will probably all have the same aggro attitude also. You really can't go wrong with the Rio Niltepec location IMO. You will get awesome Trimacs if ordered from a trusted source. GL
