Is there something wrong with MFK

This was said in a thread earlier by someone who is a member but not a regular poster here.

"What I find sad is that MFK for all the experienced members seems to be a haven for people like this. People who are more inclined to get their kicks off of fighting fish and mutilating them. IMO these people need to get burned out of the hobby. because they are ultimatly the ones that are ****ing it up for the rest of us."

Anyone agree with this? We're now a "haven" for people with bad ideas?

I thought MFK was great. Sure we get our share of idiots but every fish site does and actually thought there were less here.

So anyways anyone agree with the qoute above?
 
Don't you think that is just one persons opinion.. you and i know we are not like that and never will be like that.. and i do not find any one on here like that so if one person said this he probably wanted to start a problem.. :) :) :) what is the old saying .. You can make some of the people happy some of the time but you can't make all the people happy all the time...
 
what kind of site would this be if we were all so perfect and exactly the same? we'd have nothin to talk about. noone to correct. i'd stop comin to this site if it became the most perfect community possible. we need idiots in the world. as well as this website.
 
I don't think this site nessesarly attracts those kind of people but because of the HUGE diverse membership (more then any other fish site I know of) you just see more of them. When you compair the general membership this site still holds a large number of responsable keepers, the others are just more obvious. Also, MFK is is a lot more liberal then others, members don't seem to get banned often and on many other sites it often does not take much to get kicked off. Because of this, the memebers other sites would ban seem to pile up a bit higher.
 
The problem I see is that people seem to be so worried about what other people have to say about their collections. Through this, they come up with ways to evoke a response from others however sordid it may be. Others go as far as basing their fish buying on what others will think about it. I keep the fish I like to keep and that's that. I make the hobby for myself and not for others. If they enjoy it, fine. If not, fine as well.

As far as the "fighting and mutilating" fish, it's not only fish. Go to some of the reptile forums and see what they do. There just is a certain clique of people that like to see nature's blood and guts in action. No one says it's right, no one says it's wrong. I can say that it is a minority compared to those that enjoy keeping fish, though. In the end, to each his own.
 
No matter how many posts are made on a daily basis, SOMEONE will zero in on the couple of negative posts out of the couple of thousand total. We try to weed the garden but those pesky weeds have a way of coming back long enough for others to see before they're also weeded out. We do what we can. Can't keep 100% happy 100% of the time.

If all of the people were happy all of the time, then we wouldn't have jobs here, hahahaha. We'd be rendered useless.
 
There is nothing wrong with Monsterfishkeepers.com . If anything , the growth of this website and its community is nothing short of phenomenal. And truth be told, the immense growth and popularity could be the very reason why some groups and individuals are so dissatisfied with it.
 
I think when some of these type people hear MONSTER they think we mean them .... :nilly:
 
]v[onster Fish Keepers can not be held reponsible for the idiots who do these types of things, and/or create accounts here to display what big idiots they are.

However steps could be done to ban these individuals!
