aren't king arowanas regular sized arowanas just that they're head is bent down
the king arowanas do have this big hunch behind the head, and are short body (basically a deformity), although apparently theres different degree of shortness. And based on what jiapei said, they're probably marketed under different names now as well.

Or maybe you're thinking about the so-called 'spoonhead' (which isn't a deformity) in regular sized aros?

anyway here are some pics of king aros.

yup, that should be just under different names, king aro = bliss aro
spoonhead is not deformity, spoonhead red aro is very classic

I hate the short bodies or King aros and the spoon head for that matter. I don't know why people are so into them. They're the product of inbreeding and are a deformity. As people line breed to bring out the "popular" traits of the fish, the lines become farther and farther away from the original species, which is exactly why nobody wants to try to re-stock the wild with captive bred fish.

spoonhead is just a trait, not a deformity, but yeah people can line breed them to maintain or bring out certain trait thats already there. i was reading an aro book, and it says the chili red almost always has the spoonhead trait, as opposed to blood red. adult jardini has similar spoonhead trait too.

king aro are not only bent, but short too. they're basically deformed aros, and they'll pretty much kill all of their tank mates. but they can be called short body aros
