4-6 bala sharks

4-6 roseline sharks/denasoni barb/indian flasher barb
2 pictus cats
1 dwarf pleco
2 syndontis multipunctatus
for the roseline/bala sharks im either getting one or the other or 3 of each{if that would be ok}
will this arrangment be ok or am i crazy and need to :chillpill:?, if it is ok should i get the roseline or bala sharks? if not do you reccommend anything else? i currently have african cichlids that are driving me insane because of their insanely slow growth rate so selling them is an immediate priority:nilly::irked:

if slow growth rate isnt your thing i dont think id recommend bala sharks, that and they get massive. if u go with the roselines that should work just fine

my tank dimensions are 48" long by 13" wide by 24" high, if i get the roselines they will be about 2" and if i get the balas they will be 3". yeah slow growth is DEFFINATELY not my thing, i hate it when fish grow painfully slow. i understand having patience is key but my peacock cichlids have grown half an inch-1inch in 2.5 months and some not at all. i feed nls and flake food so i dont get whats wrong with them. i will keep them for now maybe but these plans are for the future. you know us fish keepers cant seem to make up our minds.......its good for us and bad for our banks. i want angels, peacocks,balas,roselines and the fish wish list goes on and on lol

Just so you know roselines are also slow growers. I have 4 in my 65 bought a year ago at 2 inches that are only about 3.5 inches now. Cool fish though my local fish store had some old ones at about 7 inches that were gorgeous.

Wow I seriously need to think of some type of neat fish that will grow fast. Its not that I'm impatient even though it seems like it. It's just that I don't like having fish, that grow very very slow. I like normal good growth rate of .5" a month or 2 not .5 every three. Im gonna just wait until the summer to see if they grow enough, if not im getting rid of them and buying full grown balas or roselines. My Lfs had beautiful beautiful 8-10 inch balas for only $20 yeah only $20 and they were sold already and being held

I got 3 Balas a little over a month ago. They were around 2". Now they are a little over 3. From what I understand (just what I read on the internet) they are suppose to be full grown in 1.2-1.5 years. If somone has kept them and knows for sure I would like to know myself.

you know i think it may be that every fish is different just like siblings can all be different heights and body types. genetics, water quality, quantity and quality of feedings. when you buy fish its hit and miss and often pre-determined how fast it will grow or how big.

I would go with the Roselines. They are a better fit for your size tank and in my opinion they are a better looking fish. I had a few up until recently and they were stunners. Check out my for sale thread if you want to see a little video of them.

The bala sharks will eventuallly grow longer than your tank's width...that's never a good thing. I bought some 2" Balas and grew them to just under 10" within 2 years. I had them in a 270 G (6x3x2). They get too big for a 60 gallon (especially if you are looking to keep 4 to 6 of them...which they should be kept in groups). Mine used to love to chase one another around the tank.
