Yet, let me inform you that judging from what I have seen with the speed that they can bite you may just find yourself with more than one bite.
As I am a chef cutting myself is bad enough, I can not imagine anyone stupid enough to actually let a pira bite them on purpose. Take this for what you will, I am not flaming you with this post because if I flamed you I would something more akin to verbal napalm with a icing made out of willie pete!
You ask people if it is a bad idea, you get some answers then because you are not liking the answer you post up this post.
If this were my friend I would ask him if I could give him a 3 finger touch punch in the solar plexus first and if he could remain standing I would give him 50 bucks. That is how stupid this idea is that you 2 have.
edit: My 3 finger touch punch is where I make my index, middle and third fingers to be even and upon striking, hit with a 1/4 twist make contact with the second row of knuckles and finish with a balled fist finished off with a contact from the elbow.
Let me also say this these kinds of things are only reserved for self defense or the defense of another or in the course of armed conflict. Equally silly to strike another individual and a good comparison to actually willingly letting yourself get bit by a pira.
I rehomed a shoal of pira and this is the first time I have ever kept these fish. After watching them eat I have a very healthy respect for the power that those jaws hold.
