I know the 2 larger convicts are males and thought the smaller one was a female, but am not sure. I've seen the smaller one hang around with one of the bigger convicts but have not seen any attempt to spawn. If a female is it too small? I have raised the tank temperature to above 80 and I have several small flower pots in the tank

Judging from the blues in the dorsal, I would say the smaller is a female. Can't see it in the pics but if she has any orange on her sides it's a giveaway.

This is a picture of a Male convict I use to have note the blue in the dorsal fin.

My guess would be male since I don't see any signs of orange on the side.

I agree, smaller con appears female.

there is no orange whatsoever on the sides and it def looks like it would be big enough to show the colors if it were female so i think that it is a male, i guess there are rare instances where females dont have orange but for the most part females will have orange on the sides of their bellies

Male. It must have the orange belly to be female. cons are one of the easier fish to sex because of this, their orange shows even at 1", so if there is no orange yet then there wont be. Although some orange the orange may not show well under some light, so keep an eye on it.

The smaller one is a female, not in breeding colors. Something in your tank it throwing the females spawning colors not to show. wHAT'S the temp of the tank?

This is my .5'' female....
