Is this a Gar?

I was sold what I was told are two south american Gar. Can anyone verify that this is indeed a Gar , or is it something else?

Nope they arent

Looks like a peppermint crocodile fish or similar, fairly demanding on live food and good water

Look like hujeta gars, so technically, they're South America gars

They are B maculata as mentioned.

They aren't hujeta gars but there's a resemblance for sure. They are from South America.
