Is this a good deal on a black nasty?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes but at just 2.5 inches is it worth the risk with a bloat prone fish?

If you really want to own a hait, it's absolutely worth it. It comes with the territory with this species.

If you're the price tag out questions your want to own a hait, then maybe try another species. IMHO, just trying to help.

Thanks man

I agree 100% and I am by no means knocking Rapps as I didn't know or care who the seller was, just giving my opinion on pricing for haitiensis:) and yes gage has 1-1.5" haits available where you could buy 7 or so for 50$ and haits grow fast as well:) I was gonna do haits also but decided against it because I didn't feel like dealing with bloat prone fish ATM and so I emailed Rapps and bought the wild spec pair and 12 spec F1's along with a wild jag pair:) I know I have a long project with the specs but at least I don't have to worry about sensitive fish. I will do haits at a later time:)

A Black Nasty is a Nandopsis Haitiensis.

If you will give it a tank just unto itself, keep the temp in the upper 80s, normal and baby it like crazy, it's a reasonable deal.
If you were going to put it in a community tank, at normal aquarium temps, well.......from my experience, you've got about a 50/50 chance at best.
