I just went to petsmart to pick up some plants for my new planted tank and as i go to get them i see like fifty signs all saying 50% off all loaches, knives, and sharks. I look in one of the tanks and i see clown loaches! I see on the price tag small clown loaches $11.00 and they crossed it off and it was only $5.50. And in this tank I see this one 3" clown loach swimming amongst these little 1" clown loaches. I remember seeing on MFK a discussion on clown loaches and how they are like $60 when 6". So I get this little 3" clown loach to grow out then I will sell him on MFK! So is this a good deal? Also now im looking at him in his current setup with cories, goldfish, tetras, and cichlids and I realize how small he is. So when anyone is interested in buying him when he's larger pm me. I am growing him out and thats it! But he is doing very well and I love his colors! He is a remarkable specimen and he immediatly lightened up my tank! But, when he is around 6" I will sell him according to current prices and he is already looking like a great loach! So was this a good deal? Thanks!

Up here in Ontario, 2-3" clown loaches go for about $4 each. But every single petstore around here always has them in stock by the hundreds. Literaly each store has about 2 tanks stocked with different sized loaches.

Guess it just depends on supply and dammand in different areas.

holy crap! thats so cheap! The lowest ive ever seen any before this was $12.00 that is crazily low priced! Compared to New Jersey

^^ agree thay are about 12$+ each here as well but everything is more expensive in the states

Yeah their fairly common and KNOWN for having ick, so it would be a great idea if you quarintined it for atleast 2-3 weeks! Being on sale can mean a couple things: need room for new fish shipment, fish arent healthy. Just saying keep solo and make sure! Cool guys too especially in packs

yeah they are on sale because petsmart has been having $1 sales for a couple months now and they are choosing all different types of fish completely random

Down here we pay about $4 for 2-3" and if you can find them the larger 5-10" goes from about $20-40

If you have room to grow them out I think the best deal at petsmart right now is the Roseline barbs Puntius denisonii which are only $3.49ea. at the size they normally go for about $10ea and they school great and can withstand the harassment of most fish if not eaten.

The real problem with your plan is they are slow growers and dont do well by their selves
