Is this a good deal?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
its a nice tank, i do not trust on the under gravel system, i have 5 other filters hooked up besides. but great mec filtration.

my theory of filtration..yep it may be too simple ,but here goes....ammonia ..0 nitrites ..0 nitrates..20-30 ..or less ,,,do you like the way it looks ?... if yes , you have great filtration..if no get more (or different) filtration...the idea to me at least that a certain type of filtration is inherently better than another is absurd.. for example , the only reason I wouldn't do ugf is filter maintenance( cleaning under the plate),, everybody does canisters ... but a leak or a broken latch can be expensive and more inherently dangerous to the fish(lots of people use these filters solo, because they are "better") ,, so to sum it up whatever works is better,,,imo

FWPrawn,

Thanks for the suggestions! I was looking into an African Butterfly fish, also, what's the actual name of the larger hatchet fish you would recommend? Would Silver Dollars at all be an ok tank mate? What about Gourami?

I think you got a good deal, i picked up a 90 last weekend with stand, overflow, sump heater canopy uv and some other random stuff for $200.00. That is a great deal around here seeing as people try selling Walmart 55 gallon kits for $300+. Best deal was my first 90 gallon that i got from a reptile guy for $20.

Can't wait for updates with stock pics.

redundancy is a good thing, i run the UGF in reverse to avoid having to clean the chambers under the gravel.
