armatus is being really terratorial with the ID shark , almost seems like the catfish is trying to school with him however.

Really nice looking armatus..
But do armatus eat pellets? I hardly see my scomb eat the live fish that I put in let alone pellets..

My 9" armatus is fully pellet trained on massivore. He won't even eat tilapia or any other frozen foods.

The water is clean its just algae. I keep the tank in front of a lot of light however, I have blinds that I can put down (dont need to often). I also have a little pleco that I plan on putting in. I payed 30 $ for him at the local fish store.

I dont remember the exact date all the feeder fish disappeared, but I have not fed him any live fish since. I drop pellets in every once in a while, I sit down and throw in chopped up shrimp and squid which he occasionally jolts on but will not bite. It's been about 2 weeks I think. Tomorrow I'm going to try some bigger pellets, tie some variety of chunky foods to a line and leave it in front of filter head (I tried this before but this time I'm going to use different foods and multiple lines).

Last night on the 7th I tried a variety of foods like I said I was going to do. He went for nothing... However at one point a piece of bait fell off the broken hook I was using. I began to pull it up and out. The armatus chased it all the way to the surface close by with great interest. I deducted it was the shine. He had never previously been so interested in anything nonliving. Someone said earlier to try silversides, this was the only thing I had not tried, but now knowing how important there shine could be I decided to get some. Last night I cut one in half putting the tail end near his hole and the larger head end at the far end of the tank nearly on the surface right next to a power head. I went to sleep. This morning the one near the power head was gone. His belly also looks somewhat bigger. To confirm this I will wait out the day. At the end I am going to look at him again if that slight bulge is gone (he digests really fast) then I do think he ate it.

I dont think he ate it, im gunna starve him a little longer. Maybe I should feed him live untill he gets bigger and more confident or recognizes me with food better?
