I don't know if the bottom one is meant to hold water year round. I don't think it will hold a pond for very long.

Just make sure it doesn't get punctured or deflated. The ones also used are not inflatable but simply liners that stretch due to water pressure. I prefer the latter than inflatable ones.

We have one of the ones in the bottom pictures in case something happens to our liner and we have to transfer the fish in our pond really quickly. I wouldn't use it for much other than that. It's just not thick enough to withstand the usage you're talking about for a fish pond. We bought it at the end of the season, on sale, because our cats like to sharpen their claws on the outside of our pond, and we freaked out. So far, no troubles (pond is concrete) but you never know.

well in louisiana its hot almost all year round just tryin to get idea, might get a little 1ft high kitty pools
the non inflatable ones with walls that stand with water preasure

If that's all you need, gallonage-wise, and you can filter them, then go ahead! I wish I could! Then I could have turtles.

It gets cold here! Sometimes it snows. They wouldn't care for it at all. Too bad though.
