It's relative to one's market. A 6-inch Florida will go for approximately $40 in the Wichita or Kansas City markets.

that is definitely correct...this is why i was curious as to the other Michigan poster as i haven't seen them that expensive in any of the shops i've been to in the state...whatever shop that is, they are definitely overpricing for the local market.

in my area they are $55 for a 6-8 incher or a 10-12 incher

i would hope they are expensive in your area since they are [theoretically] illegal--

Got the gar for $7 with a trade for my redhead cichlid that was just too big for the other tankmates in my tank

wow! where do you live in MI? that's definitely a ripoff for a FLG that size in this state. don't think i've ever seen one for that much in the lower part of the LP--

Ya, but I'm in Oakland Twp./Rochester Hills area and everything is expensive around here. I am thinking about trying to catch a long nose this summer though when I go fishing in the Saginaw Bay area. :naughty:

Edit: forgot to add that they are either on night crawler chunks, shrimp, pellets, or a combination of the above.

gotcha. for MUCH better prices head to Fantastic Fins in Livonia or Fish Drs in Ypsilanti. both have a great selection of oddballs and they are at reasonable prices for sure.--

One of the first FLG I got was around that price but that was in the late 80's. I've seen a few others try over the last decade or so to get that. It makes me laugh :)
