I say better to enjoy others at that price & get some affordable P's for yourself.

can't see taking a hit at that price level, Cdn or not! in lira maybe!
 
wow lots of inexperience ppl here. ok lets start from the beginning. one that is a fair RETAIL price for one that size look on shark aquariums price list george at SA is one of the best and has some of the best piranhas in the business.

the best way to get a rhom tho is thru a private sale i got my 10 inch black diamond rhom for $125 from a friend that was in a pinch.

you cant judge redbelly piranha prices with black rhom prices. rbps are usually tank bread and a dime a dozen. large rhoms have to be imported bc they dont get over 10 in or so if grown out from smaller in captivity. they are also slow growers they grow about 6 inches in the first year and a half inch to an inch after that. thats why they say if you want a big rhom buy a big rhom you will never grow it out.

Just got a Black Rhom (Peru) from aquascape, I ordered the 3-4", but actually recieved a P that was just under the 6 inch mark. I paid $45.00.
 
Im guessing, due to the Rhom's extremely slow growth rate. The price jumps pretty steeply at every inch over 6".
 
That's probably comparable. In Portland there's a tank with 4 about 10-11 inches that they want 350 each for. There's another one an hour away that the LFS wants 200 for.
