a spiny soft shell will be great!!use sand. in the winter, they will bury themselves in the sand and hibernate. what are the dimensions of the pond, what do you have filtering it?

Just getting proper info for now.
It would be like a koi pond , but only have a softshell and livebearers and be well planted with bog,floating, and underwater plants and logs. also a turtle proof fencing.
