Ahhhh, my first post! I already introduced myself in the intro forum but I guess I'll start with another quick one. My name is Rick and I'm from New England. I have some experience with fish and tanks but it was a long time ago. I recently got the bug again and searched craigslist. I found a 110 gal tank, here is what it came with:

Blue Line Pump, 800gal/min
Ocean Clear 40 sq ft cannister filter
Rena 400 Air Pump
Life Guard Heat Module w/InLine Heater

I also had to take all of his fish. He had a community tank set up. He also gave me whatever supplies he had left....charcoal, test kits, food, pvc pipping, tubbing.....you get the idea.

Anyway I paid $200.00 for it. Is that reasonable? I had to build a stand for it, unfortunately I was unaware of this site and the many helpful threads on building stands (maybe next time), so I had to wing it.

Here is what it all looks like now:

By the way I have doors for the stand but I am waiting to put them on until I am sure all my plumbing is good. Its only been 2 days now. Next day off.;)

It looks good and you got an outstading deal.. The only bad part is that for the 110 gallon you had to take the fish which were community. I would buy a smaller tank and put the fish in there besides the silver dollar and get some SA cichlids or somthing along the lines of that. GL and glad your back into the hobby.

Looks like you inherited a nice tank for a good price.

Can we see a picture of the tank without the use of flash?

I'm guessing those plants aren't real, because that looks like a silver dolla, holla.

SO what dyou have in there? Angels, tetras, barbs, mollies, and...

It looks really good. Great job with the stand. Also you got an incredible deal. The more people into this stuff the better. Keep it up. Good Luck man.

I really didnt want these fish, but I knew he wouldnt sell if he thought I didnt want them. I have my heart set on raising red bellied pirahna. I had some before during my army years and I really liked them.

My brother is interested in taking some of these fish off my hands, the others may go into one of the other two tanks I bought a few months ago for next to free. They are 29 gal tanks, one tall and one long.

Here is the tank without flash:

wow the flash really changes everything. The tank really has a nice soft look. Great Job. I would add a background if I were you but it is up to you. Great job with the wood and everything. I have 6 Red Bellies and love them. They are such great fish to have. Well whatever you decide to do Good Luck and keep us posted.

what is the actual size of the tank? it looks like 4x2x2 which is a 120 gallon tank, i know tank sizes can always vary.... my brothers 110 gallon is 60x18x24

ive also seen 110 gallons at 48x18x30 and 72x18x18

just curious what size that tank is, it looks great

You weren't too far off. It is a 110 he says it right above. You got pretty close with your guess though haha.
