Is this a High Shine Silver Arowana?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There was two Silver Arowanas at the shop one was about double the size of this one. However he had a lot more green and darker coloration than this one and made me consider this one may be what was advertised. Even though he looked just like a normal Silver with a hint of more shine. I know with some other species their colors can come in with time and figured he had an outside shot at ending up like some of the high shine that had been posted on these forums.

Has anyone got pictures of a High Shine Silver Arowana when it was a juvenile? If you have pictures would be great!

Silvers for 15?? Where in the oc il cop two n test woth my 18 in jardini hahah

This is the kind of thing that drives me batty.

Don't buy those fish for testing purposes. You know there's a 95% chance the jar will smoke them.

I'm going to hold off until my Arowana has grown up a bit more before I return him. He did not turn out like the High Shine that Hao has got. Plus my pictures with a white background plus plexi glass that should have been cleaned are not the best quality for showing an Arowana that is going to be evaluated on chrome characteristics. However I did have the opportunity to compare him to another Silver Arowana at the store and he was much more chrome colored. After going through some threads I found some Silvers that are being bred at an Arowana Farm that looks like what my Arowana is.

Here is a picture of what I think my Arowana is going to grow up and look like. The Arowanas 7 pictures down.

When I got my High Shine @ 5", it was bright silver with very little pink in its fin, no other color. ;) It was in a blue background tank, brown gravels.
