Is this a Jaguar Dovii hybrid?

Looks like motaguense. Maybe some kind of Parachromis cross (??) but I really can't find anything to distinguish this fish from a motaguense.

I very much doubt it is a jag X dovii cross. For one thing, jag and dovii both have a spot at the base of their pectorial fin; other memebers of the Parachromis genus do not. You'd think a cross of these 2 species should also have this characteristic since both parents have it....but this fish does not.

not many 14 inch motaguense out there so if so its a monster. also ive never seen a motaguense with that head slope like a managuense with blue fins like dovii. I see dovii-jag, no motaguense

Sorry folks. I think it's just a nice managuense. The variant form Honduras has a blue cast across the top of the spine at the base of the dorsal. The fish will lose that coloration as it ages. Again...just my opinion, but just a managuense.

...also, whoever owns it is an idiot for feeding it goldfish. Why take a chance on losing a prized specimen at the cost of a ten cent goldfish. Kid stuff.

It's pattern on his dorsal and tail look almost exactly like my former dovii's. That combined with the blue coloration is what made me think dovii cross. I guess someone could ask the guy on his Youtube page about it's origins if it's important.
