thanks!

How big is it? Looks female.

It has the profile of a female, but "if" there is also a dominant male in the tank, it could be a sub dominant male.
One way to see, is to take out any alpha males. I had a dominant male die, and within days, one that I thought was female grew and developed a totally different profile. I have seen this occur bin other cichlids almost overnight

The only other fish is an Oscar (about 8 inches).. I got the Oscar and the Polenni at the same time at the same size.. The Oscar outgrew the polenni really fast and is the dominant one..

Only six months old and already five inches? Are you sure about the age? Maybe I should be expecting mine to grow a little faster.

Nice fish. Agree it's probably female.

I've had paired spawning pairs before. They start small at 3" and hard to tell. I just base it on attitude (M) and torn tail (F). I only say this cuz females hump can be larger than females, lol
