  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
once its fully acclimated and happier ill see if i could get even better pics, thanks for your input tho, i too think its a female i was hoping male tho

I had the same issue. I had a similar sized festae with the dark stripes and dark dorsals and was told over and over that it was a female. However, she/he had a lot of spangling which I understand is a male trait. Unfortunately I sold it before ever knowing its true sex...Till this day I don't know what I had

Because I feed only once per day, and skip 1 sometimes 2 days of feeding per week, none of my fish have ever been fast growers.
And because of that routine, and because my fish seldom see any other human the me, they are more wild like, than pet like, as far as interaction goes, except for the few gluttons such as Tilapia, Madagascans like Paratilapia , or haitiensus.

LoL, Duanes...I think this was meant for another thread....I could be wrong though and great video

It was meant for this thread, because jagsandpits asked about interaction.
None of the festae I've had (maybe a dozen or so) have ever been particularly fish/human interactive.
I find if you raise fish with other fish, most tend to stay fish-like, except a few exceptions.
Raise a fish from a fry, no other fish in the tank, and this changes the equation.

My bad Duanes. Ya, my festae were more like cats than dogs. It's amazing how certain fish make you feel appreciated...and Festae, IMO, were not among those.
