Is this a Manueli or Humeralis?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Does the Manny grow slower than a Rhom?
Alittle faster but not much.. ur still looking at 1-1.5” a year maybe. rhoms are 1” per year but it slows down at around 10”.. my friend bought a 15“ rhom and grew and inch in 2-3 years… thats why i tell people if u want serras better get the biggest one u can find because growing them becomes boring for the average fishkeeper.

I had one when I was a teenager paid $50 for it gave it to a friend because I didn't have patience for the slow growth. I seen a large one after a few years and it was awesome looking.

Thats why if u want one, it’s better to spend the money on getting a big one although u rarely see specimens being sold bigger than 6-7”... and to be honest other than looks, personality wise I’d take a rhom. Most rhoms have more personality..

I would be lying if I said mine isn’t really skittish right now, but at around 8 inches I’ve heard they have plenty of personality, and will follow you if you walk across the tank. But I also just got him and knew what I’m getting myself into. Most issues p owners have is impatience

Here is a video, he’s becoming much more comfortable with me, even becoming somewhat territorial. Loving every second of it, it even looks like he put on some size even though he’s barely eaten. please ignore the tanins as they haven't cleared up yet
